Woman hit by lorry in Tower Bridge Road: police appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was hit by a lorry in Tower Bridge Road on Friday morning. The victim is in a critical condition in hospital.

The collision occurred at about 11.30am on Friday morning near the junction of Tower Bridge Road and Aberdour Street.

A 49-year-old woman was taken to an east London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver stopped at the scene.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on dash cam.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8285 1574 quoting reference 2897/5Apr.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
