We Love London Bridge: venues and attractions host Open House Day

'We Love London Bridge' takes place on Saturday 1 July from midday. Members of the emergency services are especially invited to visit the area on the day to give local people and businesses a chance to say 'thank you' for their response to the terrorist attack on Saturday 3 June.

"It is so beautiful to see the borough pull together in solidarity and show that, in times of need, London stands together," said one of the organisers of the event, Emma-Jane Nutbrown of the London Bridge Experience.

"The London Bridge Experience promotes the history & culture of London Bridge and the strength of this fantastic area.

"We invite the public to come along and enjoy our Open House day, bring family and friends and help further demonstrate the strong community spirit that makes London so great."

A variety of music acts will be performing in the venues in and around Borough High Street including the Southwark Tavern, The Mudlark, The Barrowboy and Banker, The Ship, The Wheatsheaf, The Market Porter, St Christopher's Inn and Slug and Lettuce. Local attractions, including The London Bridge Experience, Southwark Cathedral, the Golden Hinde and Clink Prison Museum, will be offering free or reduced price entry to both members of the emergency services and the public.

The event will also raise funds for the The British Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund.
